HISTORY
Japanese Cuisine
Japanese cuisine was influenced by the cuisine of the Chinese and the Koreans. Rice was introduced to Japan from Korea in 400 BCE. China introduced tea and the chopstick cutlery the next following years. Meat consumption is prohibited when Buddhism arrived in Japan. So instead, the Japs ate Seafood. The Japanese also made fermentation techniques for rice and fish in the 15th century. The sushi we know came in during the 1700s. Today, the Japanese use veggies, rice and seafood for their cuisine.

In 2333 BCE, the Koreans use Garlic as an important ingredient since the foundation of the Nation. The arrival of Buddhism in 400AD prohibited meat recipes. The Mongols introduced beef and dairy in the 13th century, the Confucians allowed the increase of meat consumption by the 14th century and the Japanese introduced fruits and veggies. The spicy peppers being the most important. All of these make up the Korean Menu today.
